Scotty's humor

This morning, Scotty came to me and said, "Mommy I need some more pants because the only ones left in my pants drawer are my swimming suit and my Spiderman pants . . . and I don't like my Spiderman pants, because they're itchy. . . I want to sell my Spiderman pants to someone who likes being itched."

Merry Birthday, Daddy!

Who knew that Christmas in April could make these kids so excited?!

Happy Birthday, Ryan!

We had over 20 people her to eat desserts and celebrate Ryan's birthday.  At one point in the evening, someone asked, "Where's the Birthday Boy?"  He was in the back room reading to the kids!
Scotty insisted that we needed to put our Christmas tree back up so we could have somewhere to put Daddy's presents.  We set it up, then decorated it with 100 reasons we love Ryan.
When Ryan came home from lunch, Georgia took his back pack and asked him to lie down on his tummy as Scotty took off Ryan's shoes and socks.  We placed a crown on his head, then Georgia massaged his back, Scotty massaged his feet, and Mommy massaged his hands.

Georgia bought daddy some funny teeth with her own money!

Brazil!

We had some friends from brazil stay with us for 10 days to see the Church History sites before their visas expire.  For sacrament meeting, we sang "I am a Child of God" in Portuguese with them and 4 members of our ward who also served in Brazil.  Afterwards, we had a "feijoada" at our house with the singers and their families.  There were 38 people here speaking Portuguese, laughing, and enjoying delicious food.  What fun!

Daddy's Our Hero

When Ryan came home from swimming this morning, Scotty and Georgia were eating breakfast.  When they heard him at the door, Scotty jumped under the table to hide (as usual).  Ryan chatted with Kris Anne and Georgia, then began searching for Scotty, who was bocking like a chicken.  When they finally met with tickles, Ryan urged Scotty to finish his breakfast.  "Daddy, when you're home, I'm not hungry, because I just want to play with you," Scotty said.

Grandma Georgia's Birthday

April 4, 1947 was my mom's birthday.  She was named after the prophet George Albert Smith, whose birthday is also April 4th.  Ryan helped us have a birthday party for her.  He made a chocolate, whole wheat cake (she frequently tried to make recipes healthier), prepared a picnic, and took us to a state park with a lake and playground.  It was so nice to enjoy each other's company and remember my mom.  What a kind husband I have!

SPIDER!

I'm in an exercise group where the moms take turns babysitting.  Today when I returned from my workout and was helping Georgia with her shoes, I heard the other moms scream.  When I turned, I saw Scotty holding a huge spider in a tissue I'd given him earlier for his nose.  After disposing of the spider, some of the moms told Scotty what a brave boy he was and how he'd saved the smaller kids.  "Ya," he agreed, "kind of like Superman."
